Retro-futuristic…
Isn't this strong retro influence with futuristic elements disconcertingly modern?
This style is very playful. This is also a style, which is very suitable for young people, but it is specially spectacular in large spacious areas, cafes and business spaces.
The essence of the style is well captured by the phrase "Back to the future". How did they imagined the future in the past? What is the relationship between the past and the future?
It's really thought-provoking, isn't it?
If you feel like, you can also come up with the idea of what the future will look like and what furniture will remain as the iconic elements of past?
P.s: Designer lounge chair on second picture is called Scrimp Chair, 2011 from Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub and is remind me for retro Corona Chair designed by Poul M. Volther in 1964 and is known for its sculptural gravity. Both is iconic. (Picture from www.mindfood.com)
Let me show also a great picture about the deep meening of futuristic style, which is actually a car concept from uncrate.com/retro-futuristic-vehicles
Lovely mix of past, present and future elements.
