Pop art

A few words about pop art without claiming to be complete in my own reading.

It's a fine art trend that's grown out itselves a little bit. In many ways.
1) Its influence appeared in several areas (e.g. interior design, music..etc)
2) Enlarging objects is a typical pop-art technique. :) (So you can see there real nature)

A confusing style also because it went against avant-garde expressionism and its emotional expression, not personal at all. Like: love vs sex.
It is a mass art language based on mass products. In other words this art communicates with broad sections of society through the artistic use of mass products.
It is cheerfully striking, actually extravagant, while conveying strongly critical messages too.

Just look at my below picture about modern furniture originated from Mother Armchair (1969). When I see this piece of furniture, it cheers me up, and at first sight I would call this piece of furniture as a "breast-chair".
In fact, a round stool is hiddenly attached to the armchair (like a shackle). The woman thus appears as a prisoner of society, a prisoner of social roles. That says something quite different, doesn't it? How many people could understand this message at that time? How many people stuck on the funny surface? Either ways, pop art offers a kind of philosophizing for the discerning eye, but also offers easiness for those who want only the lightness of life... That is why I use word "confusing" for this two-faced style, but this is, what makes it fantastic too... It speaks to all of us.
